It’s been a while since we’ve seen Jamie Dornan, one of our favorite contemporary hunks, out and about promoting new work. After global thirst spiked for the Irish actor with 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey, the former model faded into the background for a bit, finishing the second season of The Fall (his series with Gillian Anderson) and beginning production on the Fifty Shades sequels.

This week, when we thought there was nothing hotter than the August weather, we caught a glimpse of Dornan promoting his latest film, Anthropoid. Sporting a short-sleeved black and white patterned shirt on top of gray pants, the actor kept it classy and cool during a portrait session. With a sparkle in his eyes, the faintest hint of a smirk, and his perfect arms on full display, Dornan has us hoping this is a warmup for his marathon of media appearances when Fifty Shades Darker releases, in April 2017. Consider our anticipation built to the max.

Florals may be one of the best comeback stories in fashion. When they started permeating the men's wardrobe from top to bottom in the '70s, few would have placed their bets on seeing those patterns still alive and kicking in 2016.

That may be thanks, in part, to men's designers, such as Gucci's Alessandro Michele, who embraced embroidered petals with no holding back. Up-and-coming style icon Jaden Smith took note: The young star of The Get Down wore a one-of-a-kind Gucci jacket at this week's Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood party, in L.A.

For the rest of the outfit, Smith matched the yellow of his perfecto with a buttery gold on his T-shirt, and kept the rest of his outfit a streamlined black. This genderless trend can easily be dressed up or down, and go seamlessly from dinner party to after party. Get down with it.

We love seeing Michael Fassbender doing his best Michael Fassbender. Last year, we gagged at his Oscar-nominated performance as the late founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. Now, the actor has slipped back into Magneto's cape and helmet in the summer blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse. So we kept our eyes peeled for his red carpet appearance at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Fassbender showed up wearing head-to-toe Gucci, a classic look that complements his classic handsomeness. The bright blue Monaco suit looks simply chic worn with a white dress shirt and black lace ups, and the color also shows off his sexy ginger scruff. Fall is coming!

Rami Malek became a household name last year, when the first season of Mr. Robot went from a sleeper hit to a runaway success. This week, the actor was looking fresh-faced and finely pressed on the Emmy Awards red carpet, where Malek was a first-time nominee. By the end of the night, he became an adorably speechless first-time winner.

Malek attended this year’s ceremony in a classic black and white look tuxedo, channeling some old-timey Hollywood elegance. He wore a white linen and wool blend white dinner jacket, paired with black wool tuxedo trousers, a white cotton wing-tip collar shirt, and patent black shoes, all by Dior Homme. Giving us just the right amount of colorless blocking, Malek tied it all together with a subtly patterned pocket square. This is black and white done right.

Best-Dressed Man of the Week: Ewan McGregor

Scottish beau Ewan McGregor seems to be getting finer with age. The actor looked evergreen and ever-sexy at the Italian premiere of his latest movie, American Pastoral, which is based on Philip Roth's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, and also stars Jennifer Connelly (pictured,) Dakota Fanning, and Uzo Aduba.

McGregor served a double dish of smart-casual greatness. In his sporty daytime wear (above,) he donned a combo of fitted jogger pants and slick bomber, worn with beat up boots for extra realness. McGregor gets bonus points for the silver wristwatch, displayed with subtlety to upgrade an effortless-yet-stylish look.

In the evening, McGregor changed to a suit but kept it simple, opting to wear his tuxedo shirt without neckwear, so as not to outshine his graceful partner, who wore head-to-toe Louis Vuitton --a no-brainer for the Nicolas Ghesquière muse.

Now that summer is truly over, it’s time to embrace fall for what it is: the best outerwear season. Give your jackets their time to shine before you’re forced to hide under formless layers in the dead of winter. For that, take a leaf off Benedict Cumberbatch's style book. This week, the former Out cover star wore a lightweight taffeta Burberry bomber jacket while promoting his new film, Dr. Strange. Cumberbatch kept it casual by combining the jacket with a pair of dark jeans over sleek black sneakers. The doctor is in.

The Jason Bourne and The Night Of star went cool blue in the desert.

Summer movie season are tricky. It’s the time of the year when some of the biggest films of the year are released, and, though premieres happen in cities that experience the full brunt of the summer, our leading men are still expected to layer it up and reach for a suit.

Actor Riz Ahmed at least gave us the illusion of being cool at the LA premiere of Jason Bourne. The star, who also dabbles in hip hop, chose a sleek steel blue Burberry tailored suit paired with a white shirt and a textured black-and-white tie. The fresh color is a welcome change from the grays and blacks we're used to seeing on the red carpet, though we wish the pants would have been a slightly better fit. Perhaps Ahmed needed more breathing room? We certainly hope that's the case.

This month, the Bambi-eyed actor also headlines The Night Of, HBO's new thrilling series, and will appear in December’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. One to watch!

The strict world of US political men’s fashion is all about confidence and the right tie.

Since John F. Kennedy, presidential fashion hasn't been terribly exciting. Most world leaders think they can’t afford to distract people from their message by flaunting flashy floral suits or designer shoes. But Barack Obama has had two terms to perfect his look, and even if his taste tan outfits is debatable, his suit game has been strong since his first inauguration.

At the Democratic National Convention, where Obama confirmed his support for Hillary Clinton as our next president, POTUS went with a powder blue tie, and a tailored suit that would put all his opponents to shame.

Time and time again, our ally and president has proven that confidence is the real wardrobe staple, and everything else is accessory. We will miss you, Barry.

It’s hard to stand out in the Suicide Squad press blitz if you aren’t Will Smith, Jared Leto, or Jared Leto’s on-set “pranks,” but Joel Kinnaman is holding his own at red carpet events for the film.

Though we prefer him with a little bit of scruff his Suicide Squad character, Rick Flag, sported, a clean-shaven Kinnaman has been turning heads at premieres (almost as many as Margot Robbie) in classic, muted colors.

At this week’s London premiere for the film, Kinnaman took a page straight out of your grandfather’s style book and chose a full brown suit over a white shirt with brown patterned tie and brown shoes. Your grandpa may only dust his brown suit off for his anniversary dinner every year, but Kinnaman’s version’s slim cut proves that timeless style exists. Sometimes you don’t have to be loud on the red carpet to get attention.
